I’m Huw Robert Edwards, a professional guitarist, singer songwriter, and experienced guitar tutor based near Chapel Allerton. I offer tailored learning experiences primarily for young people of all abilities, but every student will be taught and assessed according to their own skill level and musical goals.
Equipped with a degree in Popular Music from Leeds College of Music and a master’s in composition, I lead with experience, ensuring progress is achieved at a comfortable pace whilst continuing to inspire a love for the craft. Lessons are available both in person and online, with flexible scheduling available to suit your busy life.

Learning a musical instrument is one of the most rewarding experiences a young person can have. The confidence and patience it inspires can be applied to numerous other areas in their life, if they have the right tutor. My teaching approach is based on understanding people as individuals; what motivates them, what they find most rewarding, but more importantly, their goals as a growing musician. Regardless of genre or experience level, I create lessons around personal strengths.
Although I do believe in putting the work in, students thriving in an environment where they can find joy in their lessons is something I have seen time and again. This is why I aim to help them channel their passion for music as a fulfilling and challenging part of their life.
I teach freelance within schools such as
Robert Ogden (National Autistic Society) and frequently run ensembles on behalf of
Rock School UK. I also run guitar skills and ensemble groups at
Leeds Junior Conservatoire. I also teach online, meaning I can work with people all around the world. Feel free to get in touch wherever you are.
